| I started out as a DJ in the early 80’s on the Campus Radio at Kansas
State
University. We volunteered our time as DJ’s to spin vinyl for
residents
around Manhattan, KS. I got a gig at a Manhattan club emceeing for
Spider
Crab Races. The place was called appropriately DownUnder. (It was in a
Basement). And we wore out that record from Men at Work “Who Can It be
Now?” (And I have never played the song since.)
I dabbled off and on with DJ work at different Radio Stations in Salina
and
Hutchinson. I worked as a Full time Club DJ at Rangers in Salina. I
played
Top 40 with a 2 step song slipped in occasionally for the Cowboys who
Requested it. I then went to work for another Mobile DJ. I got the
experience performing as a Wedding DJ in this way. I started buying
my own
equipment gradually building up my own Business which we named Hot
Trax DJ
Service. I have performed at many hundreds of Parties, Receptions,
Clubs,
etc. in the past 16 years. Later we added Karaoke & a new Name change
followed… A Pro DJ & Hot Trax Karaoke. |
